This large mythical department store is found on TauentzienstraBe. Its whole name is Kaufhaus des Westerns, which means ´Western Commercial Centre`, although Berliners know it as KaDeWe.
This is one of the biggest department stores in Europe, and definitely the most sophisticated and fashionable in Berlin. It started life in 1907 and has eight floors dedicated to endless numbers of high-quality products.
We recommend you have a look at the two floors dedicated solely to food and drink – they have absolutely everything. To give you an idea, for the variety and quality of the products on offer, only Harrods in London can be compared to it.
Amidst a very organised and cared for atmosphere, everything looks truly appetising. A visit here will without doubt result in you buying something exotic to eat.
´If we don’t have it, it probably doesn’t exist`. This is the slogan of the store, so just imagine what you will find here.
