If you go down Kiskorút Avenue towards Freedom Bridge, you will arrive at the city’s Central Market. This is a building dating back to the year 1896, designed by the architect Samu Pecz and constructed using brick and steel. Pay close attention to the covering of its iron beams, which lends the structure a touch of magnificence.
We recommend you have a walk around the many stalls selling anything from fish, cheese and vegetables to craftwork and flowers. It is a truly lovely place to visit, with its mix of different smells and genuine Hungarian feel. What’s more, if you have a minute or two, you could stop for a quick beer at one of the markets’ bars.
