This site is visible from a great distance because of its splendid neo-baroque dome and is located in the far-north of the Municipal Park. It is a huge complex made up of twelve thermal baths and three pools, renowned for their exquisiteness and quality of light. You will see that the northern wing is neo-baroque and dates back to the year 1927, while the southern one contains medicinal baths and was built in the early 20th century with mosaics in the art nouveau style.
One of the most famous parts of the baths is the open-air pool whose water you will find to be at a temperature of thirty eight degrees. It is not at all uncommon to see bathers playing chess on cork boards while submerged in the pool. In winter people gather to bathe surrounded by lovely snow covered statues while vapour steams off the warm water. This is a great experience which, if visiting Budapest at this time of the year, you should not miss out on.
