Conservatory Garden

Conservatory Garden (125)

Located on Fifth Avenue and 105th Street, the Conservatory Garden is another of the great jewels hidden in Central Park. Open from 8 in the morning until the sun sets, access to this magnificent garden is free.

When you walk through the main entrance, do not miss the elaborate doors that decorate it. Made of wrought iron, at that time they adorned the Cornelius Vanderbilt II mansion on Fifth Avenue.

We guess you wear comfortable shoes, because right now almost 3 hectares of gardens extend in front of you, divided into three distinct areas: the centre, the northern and the southern garden.

The central garden responds to the classic Italian garden style, with a vast expanse of lawn surrounded by hedges and wonderful corridors of wild apple trees.

The north garden is a garden in a true French style, where several sets of flowers describe various elaborate figures.

And, finally, the south garden follows the lines of a typical English garden, dotted with different statues depicting characters in The Secret Garden, a classic in children's literature written by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
