Maison de Radio-France

Maison de Radio-France (17)

In this place, in the Avenue du President Kennedy, is the largest independent structure in all France, the Maison de Radio-France.

It was designed by Henri Bernard in the mid-20th century as the centre for the state radio station Radio France and is known as being one of the first modern post-war buildings in Paris.

It comprises a rectangular tower and three incomplete concentric circular constructions. The glass and aluminium structure contains more than 70 studios and a main auditorium from where the Radio France programmes are broadcast.

Here you will also find the Museum of Radio-France with an interesting tour which goes from the first telegraph sent by Chappe in 1793 to the latest advances in communication via satellite and digital technology. As a curiosity, we recommend you also get to see one of the most complete collections of radios, televisions and recording apparatus since the origins until today.
